Affiliate Marketing is one of the biggest and common methods to make easy and legit money online. It has also become one of the major sources of earning for many online bloggers, entrepreneurs, and webmasters.
Affiliate marketing is an ideal way to make more money and start a home-based business, it doesn’t require much money to get started, and you don’t have produce, stock or ship product inventory, or deliver a service. You’re essentially paid for referring new clients and customers to other businesses online, simple!

1. Know your product: The first and most important is for you to know your chosen product(s). Thats why its good to have one or few products. You need to get every details about the product via the product category.
2. Choose one or few products: An affiliate marketer needs to choose one or few products so that you can actually have deep knowledge about that product. You will also populate people that need that kind of product. This make you have continuous sales as well.
Your choice of product depends on whom you are, your interest, your community etc. While somebody may choose High blood pressure apparatus to sell, simply because he/she has HBP and he/she is related to friends or groups that have HBP. that gives him/her the edge to make money from that product.
3. Review products:
a. In your blog: You need to learn the product you want to promote. Therefore, you need to start reviewing products in your niche. Write a blog post giving an honest review about a product(s), you can even use a YouTube Channel. We have not seen a lot of this in Affiliate Marketing in Nigeria.
b. On Social media: Social media is another big way of marketing. Affiliate marketer needs to create a facebook page specifically for the product, do same for pinterest, whatsapp, instagram, twitter, Linkedin etc.

a. Collect data: You have to collect emails, phone numbers etc so that you can connect with your audience at any time you want and don’t have to hope for them to always see your content.

b. Create an office: Your office is that place you created to make sales. Part of growing list is the facebook page, whatsapp group that you specifically created for the product.
c. Social Interact with your list: You need to create social interaction with your list. send them birthday wishes, ileya, new year wishes. send them joke occasionally. This will make them feel at home with you.
d. Product Comparison
These can be another really effective strategy for making affiliate sales. This makes your client ro be more confident in you, thus patronising and also promoting your product for you.
It works well when there are either two products that are very similar and people are thinking about one or the other.
A great example would be comparing the iPhone X vs the Samsung Galaxy S8.

Over Selling:
Too much promotion is a bummer, it distracts and irritates your audience. You should rather help people with useful products that are relevant to them. Stick to one or few products.
No Blog/Website/social media influence :
Starting an Affiliate Business without a blog or any website or social media influence to establish trust and build credibility may be a slow game.
Sugar Coating:
Don’t sugar coat around the product too much – be genuine about the products you are promoting. If your customer does not find the product useful as described by you, you can lose your own audience. The secret is for you to always leave an honest review.
Too many Products:
Avoid selling too many products – choose only those products that will be relevant to your target audience. It takes time to set up a regularly paying affiliate system for yourself but it is fruitful when started small..
No Product Comparisons and Reviews:
Make use of your promotion space by including the comparison between 2-3 other similar products also in your reviews/promotions. Coming out with product reviews and comparisons and updating them with time will make sense for your audience and will make them buy more of those products from your affiliate link.
